Pastor Tyler grew up on a small ranch in rural eastern Washington State. He met his wife, Salome, while attending Moody Bible Institute, where he majored in Biblical Studies. Salome's family immigrated from Switzerland to Canada when she was six, and she grew up attending Forest Baptist Church. After they were married, Tyler attended Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, where he received his M.Div. degree.
Tyler and Salome originally came to Forest Baptist to do a year long internship in order to complete his master's degree. At the end of their internship, Tyler accepted an invitation to remain on staff.
Tyler loves rural life and serving in a small town atmosphere. He also enjoys church history, reading, and football. He and Salome have three sons: Ben, Titus, and Calvin.
